What Type of Submissions Are We Looking For?
Eclectic. Colorful. Bold. But most importantly, we want to see your personality.
We love seeing vibrant weddings that are unique, and move away from the “Pinterest typical” beige weddings. Not because we hate beige, but there are already lots of Utah magazines providing that inspiration. We want to show people how you can bring your personality to a wedding and step outside of the norm.
So if you are worried that isn’t you, all you have to do is think “Does my wedding fit my personality? How?” and if you can answer those questions, your wedding/shoot is worth submitting.
Online Submission Guidelines and Policies:
1. Quality
First of all- Thanks for choosing Wed Utah! We would love to be able to feature every submission that comes through our way, but we also want to make sure we are producing the best content that fits our style and our audience. We want you to know that if you aren’t accepted, please try again with future submissions.
We are looking for images that are high-quality, and clearly from professionals. Even if these are newer professionals, we care more about the storytelling the images or video convey than the popularity of the professionals. Utah is thriving with talented creatives and we want to showcase that and the creative people getting married here!
2. Response Time
Right now, we are a smaller team so please be patient with us! Our goal is to get back to you with our answer within 5 business days. If after 5 business days (essentially a business week) you haven’t heard back from us, you can e-mail us at kathleen@wedutah.com .
3. Exclusivity
We are currently not exclusive, but will give preference to exclusive work. We want to feature work that hasn’t been seen anywhere else (except for that of the submitter’s blog, feed, etc.)
4. Quantity
As far as quantity for submission, we are looking for:
- at least 20 images for either type of photo submission–stylized shoot or real.
- at least a minute long video for videography submission–stylized shoot or real.
Whether videography or photography, your submission should showcase at least 2+ wedding vendors (yourself included in this). We prefer detail shots combined, venue shots, and portrait shots of couples.
Other Important Notes About Vendor Information
- Please make sure all vendors involved are listed. We don’t want to be caught off guard by someone who claims they weren’t credited.
- Gallery Links are preferred. Please include a passcode if required.
- Please make sure if you are a Vendor submitting on behalf of the Bride and Groom that they fully have your permission to do so, and that they understand this is a public platform, including all social media and related communications.
